Evénement : Un colloque du Réseau Européen « LAGUNA » a eu lieu à Aussois du 7 au 9 Septembre 2010 au centre du CNRS Paul Langevin

Ce réseau a pour but principal l'étude comparative de 7 sites souterrains en Europe, en vue d'installer dans celui qui sera finalement choisi un très grand laboratoire international, voire mondial.

Le site du Fréjus, à proximité du Laboratoire Souterrain de Modane, apparaît déjà comme un des meilleurs candidats pour un tel projet grandiose, qui ne manquerait pas d'avoir un impact positif considérable sur la vie socio-économique et culturelle de la vallée de la Maurienne et, au delà, du département de la Savoie et de la région Rhône-Alpes.

Ce colloque a été également l'occasion de quelques " événements" sympathiques : un dîner très convivial au fort Marie-Christine, un diaporama sur la vie et la beauté du Parc National de la Vanoise et encore une balade nocturne (avec flambeaux !) au Monolithe de Sardière, le tout très bien organisé par les Guides d'Aussois.

A general meeting of the European Network “LAGUNA” took place in the CNRS Paul Langevin Center at Aussois from 7 th to 9 th last September

The main goal of this Network is the comparative study of 7 underground sites in Europe , in view to choose the best location for a very Large International Laboratory.

The Fréjus site, near the “Laboratoire Souterrain de Modane”, already appears as one of the best candidates for such a very large and ambitious project, which would certainly have an important and positive impact on the socio-economic and cultural life of the Maurienne valley, and beyond of the Savoie Department and the Rhône-Alpes Region.

This meeting included the opportunity of some pleasant events : a dinner at the typical restaurant “Fort Marie-Christine”, a video presentation of the life and beauties of the “Parc National de la Vanoise”, and finally a night-walk with torchlight in the surrounding forest, to the “Monolith” located nearby the Sardière village : all this very well organised by the Aussois' mountain Guides.
